Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to read Jacqui Wood’s CLIFF DREAMERS.  This story is an incredibly unique idea, full of mysticism, adventure, and imagination and Ms. Wood’s voice is engaging.

I wish you the best of luck!

Best wishes,

Michele Bidelspach

As the editor of CALLIOPE and DIG, two educational magazines on world  history and archaeology, respectively, that are geared to youth ages  10-14 and distributed throughout the United States, I am always
researching books that I can recommend, both on the magazines' Further  Reading pages and on the Web sites, to our readers. The articles Jacqui  Wood has written for DIG are insightful, interesting, fact-filled, and  just fun to read. When I was asked to read the manuscript for her new  book series, I found the same to be true of them. I just kept turning  the pages. Her descriptions and the dialogue between the characters  transports you effortlessly  to the period. You can just imagine  yourself as part of the scene, all the while learning a tremendous  amount about the customs, lifestyles, and beliefs of the people at that time. I believe that readers, young and old, will thoroughly enjoy  each book and be eager to read the next in the series.

Rosalie Baker
Editor, CALLIOPE and DIG Magazines
Author, several books for Carus Publishing Company and University Press

I really enjoyed these books and couldn't put them down. I found you could really envisage the scenes. I felt I was there in the boat, in Inga's Swan settlement and in all the adventures that occurred. I thought the characters, especially Mia, Borg and Kemit were well drawn.  The books appeared archaeologically accurate as you would expect from a well known archaeologist. But I liked the fact  that the archaeology is subtly entwined in the story, so the reader acquires knowledge without it being obvious."

I am a retired lecturer and researcher and spent much of my working life trying to promote reading.  I am sure many people would enjoy these books, and when published I will encourage my local reading group to read them.

Linnea Glynne-Rule (Dr) , Age 62

I became completely engrossed in the story to the point of getting very worried for Mia in such a violent society and hoping she would remain safe with her friends.  A fascinating way of looking at an era which is hard for us to imagine for ourselves.

Stella, Age 58, ex Social Worker and now gallery owner.

My name is Jane Osborne Fellows. I will be 71 this year and am a retired teacher, and world traveller in as much as I have worked for H.H. The Dalai Lama for 28 years:

This book has impressed me more deeply than I initially realized. Probably more than any other book I have read ( being a book worm for 65 years I have really surprised myself here !) because the compelling simplicity of Jacqui's writing means that one is immediately THERE wherever the action is taking place. Somehow this story has gone deeply into my 'cellular memory' and unknowingly into my own subconscious mind. "Harry Potter eat your heart out !"

The story flowed, dragging me smoothly into another world, allowing the imagination to capture the images of the characters and the world they inhabit.

Ryan P Smith, Security Manager  age 42

I found the books to be page-turners with well defined characters that you can really relate to. With Jacqui's knowledge of history and archaeology the stories ring true and the dash of magic adds a bit of sparkle. I'd love to know what happens next!

Doug , Age 64, Financial Adviser

I feel very privileged to be allowed to read the first two books of your Stone Age Saga. It was fascinating to learn about our ancestors who lived 6,000 years ago and their customs and the difficulties that they had to overcome. I also found it a great human interest story as we followed the young girl, Mia, from her early years through her adventures and growing maturity. In fact, I found it so fascinating that I had difficulty in putting the first book down until the early hours of the morning when I could no longer keep my eyes open. Although no longer a teenager,(I have reached 82 summers) I thought that the teenage version with the inclusion of magic and remote viewing (not so far fetched in this day and age) more gripping than the Adult Version. I eagerly await the next book in order to learn and follow Mia and all the other interesting characters as they grow older and they have more adventures together.

I found it as interesting as the recent Harry Potter series and hope that you find a publisher soon. It would be a tragedy if this Saga is not completed and published in order to reach a much wider audience.

Robbie Pownall - Dental Surgeon (Retired) Age 82

An evocative and compelling read. It offers the reader a chance to immerse themselves in a world of intrigue, mystery and adventure. Thoroughly enjoyable and very highly recommended

Kathryn Ford, Age 34, School Secretary

A book that brought the archaeology of the distant past to life, objects and sites that are known from the dry facts become alive under the touch of the author, Jacqui Wood obviously knows her stuff.  It combines action and adventure with mysticism, giving the reader goosebumps!

Toni-Maree Rowe, Age 34, Archaeology Lecturer

"I found the Mia books to be a great read and enjoyed the development of the main characters and their adventures through the stories.  The books were interesting and informative and would appeal to people of all ages.  I can't wait to find out what is going to happen in the next book"

Diana Cook, Age 63, retired Medical Secretary
